Morning prayer

Introduction

L Lord, teach us to pray.
R In the name of the Father and of the Son
and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Invitation to praise God for his Love

L Let us praise and bless the Lord with all creatures:
Psalm 117 (116)
1 O praise the Lord, all you nations,
acclaim him, all you peoples!
2 Strong is his love for us;
he is faithful for ever.
1 Glory be...

To the most Holy Trinity

L Most Holy Trinity: Father, Son and Holy Spirit,
R We adore and thank you
for the blessings received throughout our lives,
especially for the gift of this day.
L Blessed be the one true God,
Father, Son and the Holy Spirit.
R Most Holy Trinity,
we offer you, through the hands of Mary,
Queen of Apostles,
our thoughts, words, work and suffering of this day.
L We renew our resolve
to grow to be perfect in your love,
so that our community,
united by the love of the Father,
the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ
and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit
may be totally committed to the work
of the Catholic Apostolate.
R We ask you to assist our Pope, N.,
and we join with him in prayer
for the universal Church,
for our Christian brothers and sisters,
for those who profess a different faith,
for those who do not believe in you
and for all the peoples of the world.
L We entrust our community to your infinite love:
the individual members and their superiors,
the communities, regions and provinces.
R Watch over bishops, priests, sisters, brothers
and all religious families in your Church.
L Bless our relatives, friends and benefactors
and all who have asked our prayers.
R Through your infinite mercy
recall to your love those who have strayed;
and grant eternal life in your kingdom
to our deceased members and relatives
and to all the faithful departed.

The Angelus

Introduction (optional)
L

“This is how God loved the world: he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish but may have eternal life” (John 3:16).

Adoring, we remember the mystery of the incarnation of the Word and we greet Mary, Mother of the Redeemer.

L The Angel of the Lord declared unto Mary,
R

and she conceived of the Holy Spirit.

Hail Mary.

L Behold the handmaid of the Lord.
R

Be it done unto me according to your word.

Hail Mary.

L And the Word was made flesh,
R

and dwelt among us.

Hail Mary.

L Pray for us, holy Mother of God,
R that we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.
L Pour forth, we beseech you, O Lord,
your grace into our hearts,
that we, to whom the incarnation of Christ your Son
was made known by the message of an Angel,
may, by his Passion and Cross,
be brought to the glory of his Resurrection.
Through the same Christ our Lord.
R Amen.
L Glory...
R

As...

Angel of God, whom God has appointed my guardian,
enlighten, protect, direct and govern me this day.
Amen.

During the Easter Season: Regina Coeli

Introduction (optional)
L

The angel said to the women: “There is no need for you to be afraid. I know you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here, for he has risen, as he said he would.” (Mt 28:5-6)

In the joy of the resurrection, let us address our prayer to Mary, Mother of the Redeemer.

L Queen of heaven, rejoice, alleluia.
R

The Son whom you merited to bear, alleluia,

L has risen as he said, alleluia.
R

Pray for us to God, alleluia.

L Rejoice and be glad, O Virgin Mary, alleluia,
R

for the Lord is truly risen, alleluia.

L O God, you give joy to the world
by the resurrection of your Son, Jesus Christ.
Through the prayers of his mother, the Virgin Mary,
bring us to the happiness of eternal life.
We ask this through Christ, our Lord.
R Amen.
L Glory...
R

As...

Angel of God, whom God has appointed my guardian,
enlighten, protect, direct and govern me this day.
Amen.

Apostolic Prayer of St Vincent Pallotti

L

Eternal Father, it is your will that all should be saved.

R Great is your mercy.
Your Son, Jesus Christ, died for all.
Teach all people to recognise you and love you.
L

With deep faith in Christ’s death and resurrection,
we pray:

R send forth, O Lord, labourers into your vineyard,
and spare your people.
L

Eternal Word, Redeemer of all creation,
lead all people to yourself;

R you have been obedient for all,
even to death on the cross.
L

Look upon the merits of your Mother
and of all the angels and saints.
They intercede for us.

R Send forth, O Lord, labourers into your vineyard,
and spare your people.
L

Holy Divine Spirit,
through the infinite merits of our Lord Jesus Christ,

R enkindle in all hearts your ardent love
that can do all things,
that all may be one fold and one shepherd,
and that all may arrive in heaven
to sing your divine mercy.
L

Queen of Apostles and all the angels and saints,
pray the Lord of the harvest

R

to send labourers into his vineyard
and spare his people, that,
united with him and the Father and the Holy Spirit,
we may all rejoice for ever and ever. Amen.

Conclusion

L

May the Lord bless us and preserve us from all evil.
May he keep us faithful in his service.

R To him be honour and glory for ever and ever.
Amen.
