As the Pallottine Spiritual Family around the world, today we remember with great gratitude the pontificate of Pope Francis and his ministry as Archbishop of Buenos Aires. We also pray humbly and fervently for eternal salvation and fullness of life for him.
We remember our meeting with him last April, when we were able to meet him in audience and give him a painting commemorating the martyrdom of five of our confreres in St. Patrick’s Church in Buenos Aires in 1976. Pope Francis knew them personally and one of them, Fr Alfredo Kelly SAC, had benefited from the spiritual direction and confession of Fr Jorge Bergoglio SJ, who was the Jesuit provincial superior at the time.
We thank God’s providence for his care for the poor and excluded. Let us give thanks for the great dreams of humanity as a great family of sisters and brothers. May God, the Father of mercy and of all consolation, welcome him into His House and grant him fullness of life and salvation.
